Safety
If you smell gas.
Propane smells like rotten eggs on purpose. If you smell it, act first and call second.
- Get everyone out of the house immediately.
- Don’t flip switches, use phones, light anything, or start a car nearby.
- If safe, close the tank valve (turn clockwise).
- From a safe distance, call 911, then notify us — the app has an “I smell gas” button that does this.
- Don’t go back inside until a professional says it’s safe.
Tank care
- Keep the area around the tank clear of snow, debris, and grills.
- Never let a tank run empty — air and moisture get in and regulators need re-checking. (The app exists so you never have to.)
- If you own your tank, DOT requalification applies on a schedule; we track it and print the label on site.
Carbon monoxide
Install CO detectors on every level. Propane appliances that are serviced annually rarely produce CO — and if your furnace is behaving oddly, tell us in the app.
